Aida Garrity lives in Ohio and was educated in Manchester and London, UK and lived most of her life in England, Canada and the USA. Aida received her Masters in Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

The artist creates figurative paintings that reflect her passion and interest in painting people by capturing and exploring their individual personalities, moods and emotions.

After visiting the Norman Rockwell museum in Massachusetts and the recent exhibit that was shown in Columbus, Ohio, she was struck by Rockwell’s skill in rendering a dramatic story using everyday scenes. Aida strives to capture the same kind of rich narrative in her scenes from everyday life in Dublin, Ohio.

Her work was selected by the jurors for inclusion in the 2014, 2016 Members Annual Exhibition, Members Only Spring and Fall 2012 Through 2016 Exhibition and Auction Shows at “The Salmagundi Club” in New York City where she received the “Kent & Helen Coes Award”, Juried in the 4th Annual Sylvia Maria Glessmann 2013 Exhibition at the Salmagundi Club in New York, National Art Museum of Sport 2nd Annual International (NAMOS) “Commitment to Excellence in Art and Sport: A Fine Art Competition”, in the 2011 and 2015 National Oil and Acrylic Painters of America “Best of America” Exhibit, 2016 American Women Artist Online Show and 2017 Small Works Exhibition of the National Association of Women Artists. Her work has also reached the international audience by being juried in the PNC Arts Alive Worthington-Samaya (Japan) Arts Exchange Exhibit which is taking place in Samaya (Japan) till January 8th 2013.

Her work has also been exhibited in several local shows such as Riffe Gallery, American Association of Women Artist in Cincinnati, Peggy McConnnel Center, The Ohio Hometown Exhibit at the Rhodes James A. Rhodes State Office Tower, High Road Gallery in Columbus Ohio, The Arts Castle in Delaware Ohio, The Columbus Metropolitan Library and the Rising Sun Pendleton Art Center, Pendleton, Indiana.

She is a member of the prestigious Salmagundi Art Club, the Portrait Society of America, Associate member of the Oil Painters of America, Associate with Distinction of the American Women Artists, and the Cecilia Beaux Forum and member of the Oil and Acrylic painters of America. Aida is the past President of the Worthington Art League and past Vice President of the Dublin Art League.

After living in Canada for more than nine years, Aida Garrity relocated her studio to Dublin, Ohio where she resides with her four children and her husband Kevin.
