My interest in art began at a very early age, and continued through high school and on to college where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Columbus College of Art & Design in 1974.
Majoring in painting, I studied watercolor, oil and acrylic painting along with relief sculpture and photography. I also was very fortunate to have studied figure drawing under Dr. Dennis Drummond, a renowned Ohio artist and Fine Arts professor emeritus at CCAD.
I enjoy painting landscapes of scenes found in North Central Ohio and while traveling across the country. I paint primarily in plein aire , which translated means “in the air” or in the out of doors.
I meet with local artists several times a month for painting excursions around Richland County.
I am currently a member of the Mansfield Art Center, the Ohio Plein Air Society and a signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of America.
My work has been accepted into national and juried exhibitions where I have been pleased to receive awards and recognitions. In 2010 a colored pencil painting was accepted into the Midwest Color 2010 Show that was held in Oberlin College. This exhibit featured the work of colored pencil artists from 13 states.
I have artwork featured in the publications of Best of World Wide Artists in 2010 and Signature Show Case, CPSA also in 2010.
I am proud to be represented by ArtSpace 106 in Mansfield.
I live in Mansfield and have two daughters, Alexandra and Victoria.
