MARY ANN CLADY

I am a native Ohio artist currently working in oils. For many years I worked in watercolors and still do occasionally. Growing up on a farm instilled upon me an appreciation for nature and the changing seasons. This is reflected In my work with themes revolving around landscapes, seascapes and florals. My paintings are executed in an impressionistic manner with liberal use of color. Many of my paintings are done “Plein Air” or in the open air.

I have studied art at Ohio State University and Bowling Green State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from B.G.S.U. Over the years I have pursued my studies in oil, watercolor and figure drawing from noted artists in these fields.

I have taught Art in the public schools, participated in juried outdoor shows throughout Ohio and showed at juried exhibitions. At this time my work can be seen at the Artspace Gallery in Mansfield and the gallery shop at the Mansfield Art Center.

In 2011 I had a solo show in the Mansfield Art Center’s Foundation Gallery. I exhibited in the “Piano Man Series” with sculptor Ken Arthur at the Sandusky Cultural Center in 2014. I’ve exhibited at the Springfield Art Museum in the “Ohio Variations” show in 2012 and the “Ohio Prairies” show in 2014. These were Ohio Plein Air Society exhibitions.

I continue to be amazed and inspired by the beauty of nature found in the Ohio landscape. I hope to capture this elusive quality for many years to come. Visit my website at FineArtStudioOnline – www.maryannclady.com or contact me at maryannclady@gmail.com
